Dolmen Insurance Brokers first opened its Northern Ireland office in Newry more than five years ago, bringing trusted, people-focused insurance advice to a community that had been underserved by local brokers. What began as a small team has grown rapidly into a thriving NI hub, driven by strong customer demand, specialist expertise, and a commitment to delivering insurance the right way — with honesty, clarity, and genuine care.
A Strong Foundation Across Ireland
In 2025, Dolmen acquired a new site in Newry, which will become a dedicated NI office from early 2026. This investment marks a long-term commitment to Northern Ireland and will allow us to expand our services, support more local customers, and grow our NI team substantially in the years ahead.
Today, we have more than 12 staff based in Northern Ireland — with plans to hire many more as we scale our Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance divisions in 2026.
Dolmen Insurance began in 1998 with a simple mission: to provide insurance advice people could trust. Over the decades, we’ve grown into one of Ireland’s best-known brokers, supported by a multicultural team and a dedicated underwriting division offering nearly 20 specialist products.
Our journey includes:
- 2001: Acquisition of Rooney Insurances, expanding our expertise and customer base
- 2006: Launch of Dolmen Underwriting, offering niche and specialist insurance solutions
- 2015: Purchase of CUSafe, strengthening our personal and credit union-focused product range
This foundation allows us to bring big-broker capability to Northern Ireland while maintaining the local, friendly feel our Newry customers value.

Dolmen has quickly become a recognised name among NI drivers and travellers — especially within the campervan and motorhome community. Today, we are one of the largest campervan insurance providers in Northern Ireland, offering flexible cover, European travel benefits, and claims support handled locally.
